I don't support companies directly with their SR&ED claims. I work with firms (CPA, tax and practices that specialize in tax incentives) on the one part where a developer's background makes the difference: the scientific and technical side. The rest of the file, the relationship and the tax strategy stay entirely in your hands.

My scope: the technical side, nothing else

My work is limited to what requires a real understanding of the technology. Depending on the file, that can be:

  • a technical eligibility analysis to confirm whether there's SR&ED to claim;
  • the identification and framing of the technological uncertainties;
  • the interviews with the client's development teams;
  • the writing or review of the technical reports;
  • technical support in the event of a review or audit.

I don't touch the expenditure calculation, the return itself, or the commercial relationship. Those are your strengths; I complement them, I don't replace them.

The client relationship stays entirely yours

This is the most important point, and it's non-negotiable on my side: the client is yours. I can talk directly with their technical teams when it's useful, or work entirely through you. Some firms present me as their technical resource; others prefer I stay in the background. Both work for me.

My goal isn't to insert myself between you and your client. It's to make you stronger on the technical side, so you can take on files you might otherwise have hesitated to accept.

Two ways to use me

As extra capacity

If you already master SR&ED but lack time or technical depth on certain files (AI, complex platforms, performance, hardware), I serve as overflow capacity in peak season or as targeted reinforcement on the most demanding projects.

As the full technical side

If your firm excels on the tax side but has no developer profile in-house, I take on the entire scientific and technical side: from the first analysis to the final report, including the interviews.

What a typical engagement looks like

  1. Scoping. We clarify the mandate, my scope and your preference on contact with the client.
  2. Analysis. I review the projects and assess what is genuinely eligible.
  3. Interviews. I meet the technical teams to document the work and the uncertainties.
  4. Writing. I produce the technical reports, ready to align with your tax treatment.
  5. Review. We validate together before filing.
  6. Support. I stay available if the CRA has questions.

A predictable flow that fits into your timelines and keeps back-and-forth to a minimum.

Confidentiality and discretion

Your clients' information is handled rigorously, and I adapt to your confidentiality agreements. Discretion is part of the service: I have no interest in putting myself forward in a relationship that is yours.

What you gain

  • The ability to take on more complex software and AI files without hiring a technical profile.
  • Time freed up in peak season.
  • Stronger technical reports, more defensible in a review.
  • A partner who's easy to recommend and never threatens your client relationship.

Let's work together on your next file

Whether for a one-off mandate or a lasting collaboration, I'd be glad to discuss how I can strengthen your technical side.
